Graduates of this program should be able to:

  • Communicate effectively in personal and professional situations.
  • Know how to locate, evaluate, and use information sources.
  • Understand basic math and scientific terms/concepts and procedures/processes.

Required: NSCC 1010 - First Year Experience 1 Credit

Note:


Additional course requirements: The Tennessee Board of Regents requires that students either demonstrate the appropriate skill levels in math, reading, and/or writing before enrolling in college-level courses or enroll in appropriate co-requisite experiences with college-level courses to develop competency in those skills while performing college-level work. ACT/SAT scores, classic ACCUPLACER test scores, next-generation ACCUPLACER test scores, or other relevant information determine whether a student needs to enroll in co-requisite courses in math, reading, and/or writing (English).

 

* This course is part of the general education core.

** Students who plan to transfer to the University of Tennessee must complete MATH 2050 - Calculus Based Prob/Stat .

*** Students who plan to transfer to Austin Peay State University, East Tennessee State University, and the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga must complete CISP 1010 , CISP 1020 , Computer Science I and II (Programming) instead of INFS 1010 , Computer Applications and electives. For these students, the total credits in the Area of Emphasis will be 20 credits and total degree credits will be 61.
