Graduates of this program should be able to:

Demonstrate the ability to apply critical thinking skills

Know how to locate, evaluate, and use information sources.
Understand basic math and scientific terms/concepts and procedures/processes.

Students may elect 41 general education credits and 12 additional elective credits as outlined below:

General Education Requirements:

English Composition	6 hours
English/Oral Presentation Communication	3 hours
Literature	3 hours
Humanities and/or Fine Arts	6 hours
Social/Behavioral Sciences	6 hours
History	6 hours
Natural Sciences lab course	8 hours
Mathematics	3 hours

as outlined below from the “General Education Requirements and Courses” section of this catalog.

Electives	18 hours

ourses should be selected by the student in consultation with advisors at the college or university to which they wish to transfer.

Additional course requirements: The Tennessee Board of Regents requires that students either demonstrate the appropriate skill levels in math, reading, and/or writing before enrolling in college-level courses or enroll in appropriate co-requisite experiences with college-level courses to develop competency in those skills while performing college-level work. ACT/SAT scores, classic ACCUPLACER test scores, next-generation ACCUPLACER test scores, or other relevant information determine whether a student needs to enroll in co-requisite courses in math, reading, and/or writing (English).
