Additional course requirements: The Tennessee Board of Regents requires that students either demonstrate the appropriate skill levels in math, reading, and/or writing before enrolling in college-level courses or enroll in appropriate co-requisite experiences with college-level courses to develop competency in those skills while performing college-level work. ACT/SAT scores, classic ACCUPLACER test scores, next-generation test scores, or other relevant information determine whether a student needs to enroll in co-requisite courses in math, reading, and/or writing (English).

Courses in engineering technology do not fulfill any of the requirements for the Area of Emphasis in Electrical Engineering.

Although it is possible to complete the B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering in four semesters after earning the associate’s degree, students typically need five or six semesters to complete requirements.

Total semester credits required for the A.S. Degree are 67.

* This course is part of the general education core.

** Students are encouraged to take two courses, Circuits II and Digital Design, before transferring to a university.
