COM 1150 - Typography I 3 Credits 3 Class Hours
An introduction to the aesthetics and mechanics of typographic form. Students will learn the fundamental practices of how to effectively communicate using typographic form through an emphasis on theory and practice. Topics include font selection, recognition and classification, alignment, hierarchy, size, letterspacing and legibility. This course was formerly titled “Type Concepts”. Prerequisite(s): COM 1110 , Level 2 placement in English and Reading.
