CADD 2113 - 3D Design & Printing 3 Credits 2 Class Hours, 2 Lab Hours
This course will cover 3D Drafting Principles, 3D Printing, AM (Additive Manufacturing), Prototyping, & 3D Scanning technologies to provide the student with the skills required in the 3D Printing & Additive Manufacturing (AM) industry. Included topics are Navigating in 3D, 3D Drawing Planes, Drawing and Editing commands which apply to all 3D Modeling software. 3D Printing & AM Technologies, Software materials with hands on use of 3D Printers. Environmental, scanning, generative design and build strategies to make well designed and sustainable 3D printed designs will also be discussed. AutoCAD, SolidWorks, 3DS Max and other softwares will be used. Prerequisite(s): Students should have experience in a drafting/design software or be enrolled in Software Based design class.
