CITC 2356 - Penetration Testing & Net Def

3 Class Hours

Develops essential skills for penetration testers and other network security professionals, focusing on how hackers attack computers and networks, and how to protect Windows and Linux systems. Topics include legal restrictions and ethical guidelines enforcement; hands-on labs, both attacking and defending, using port scans, footprinting, buffer overflow exploits, SQL injection, privilege escalation, Trojans, and backdoors; and the legal, ethical, and technical aspects of using computer systems in unexpected ways.  Prepares the student for CompTIA PenTest+ Certification. Prerequisite(s): CITC 1301  and CITC 1332
