Health Sciences provides training for students interested in applying to a nursing program as well as training for a career in a hospital or other health-related setting. Some students enter this program and then, if accepted, transfer into a nursing program. Others will use the degree to open opportunities at a variety of health-care employment settings.
Graduates of the program should be able to:
- Function as a manager in a health-related setting;
- Be familiar with a broad range of issues and settings common to the healthcare employment setting; and
- Identify and conduct themselves as members of the health care profession.
Transfer/Advising
Students may choose this program as a stepping stone into a nursing program or into levels of higher education. If a student plans to seek admission to a nursing program or transfer to another institution, he/she should consult his/her advisor to avoid potential loss of credits in the transfer process. NOTE: Anatomy and Physiology I and II must have been taken no longer than five (5) years prior to consideration for admissions to the nursing program.
