The Emergency Medical Technician: (EMT) course is an academy-style, semester long program designed to educate and train students to serve as a vital member of a pre-hospital EMS team. This course provides students with the necessary didactic and practical training to perform life-saving skills. Students will learn to work alone as well as in a squad-based (team) environment.  

  

Upon successful completion of the course, students are eligible to sit for the National Registry’s written and practical examinations.  Upon successful completion of examinations and other licensure requirements, the student will be eligible for the State of Tennessee EMT. Basic, license.
