Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: Programs of Study

The Healthcare Management Associates of Arts and the Associates of Science degrees are designed to prepare students interested in the field to transfer to a four-year degree program to complete their studies.

Graduates of this program should be able to:

  • Demonstrate the ability to apply critical thinking skills
  • Write clear, well-organized documents.
  • Communicate effectively in personal and professional situations.
  • Know how to locate, evaluate, and use information sources.
  • Understand basic math and scientific terms/concepts and procedures/processes.

This is a “University Parallel” degree path. A.A. and A.S. degree areas of emphasis suggest the courses that are most likely to transfer but are not guaranteed. It is always best to contact your selected transfer university as early as possible.

Foreign language courses are an additional requirement for the A.A. and B.A. degrees at Tennessee Board of Regents’ Universities. Students pursuing the A.A. degree should choose two foreign language courses as part of the Humanities degree requirement.
