PHIL 2200 - World Religions*

An introduction to the academic study of comparative religion. Topics include basic elements of religion and strategies for recognizing patterns of similarity and divergence among different religions, and the origins, development, and fundamental beliefs and practices of Hinduism, Taoism, Buddhism, Confucianism, Jainism, Sikhism, Shinto, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, among others. Prerequisite(s): Completion of all Learning Support competencies for writing and reading. Note: PHIL 2200 meets the general education requirement for Humanities.
