Health Sciences provides training for students interested in applying to a nursing program as well as training for a career in a hospital or other health-related setting. Some students enter this program and then, if accepted, transfer into a nursing program. Others will use the degree to open opportunities at a variety of health-care employment settings.
Graduates of the program should be able to:
Function as a manager in a health-related setting;
Be familiar with a broad range of issues and settings common to the healthcare employment setting; and
Identify and conduct themselves as members of the health care profession.
Students may choose this program as a stepping stone into a nursing program or into levels of higher education. If a student plans to seek admission to a nursing program or transfer to another institution, he/she should consult his/her advisor to avoid potential loss of credits in the transfer process. NOTE: Anatomy and Physiology I and II must have been taken no longer than five (5) years prior to consideration for admissions to the nursing program.
Course Requirements (60 Credits with minimum 15 hours at NSCC)
