ASTR 1010 - Solar System Astronomy*


4 Credits
3 Class Hours, 3 Lab Hours

An introductory course in the astronomy of our Solar System. Topics include the history of astronomy, astronomical coordinates, Newton’s Laws, gravitation, properties of light, kinds of telescopes and their uses, the Moon, eclipses, the Sun and its planets, asteroids, comets, and other interplanetary objects. Prerequisite(s): Completion of all Learning Support competencies in reading and math.
