PHIL 1040 - Introduction to Ethics

An introduction to the study of moral reasoning and judgment. Topics include the meaning and importance of individual and social morality in human life, and the major systems of ethical theory as they apply to debates concerning contemporary moral issues such as abortion, euthanasia, capital punishment, etc. Prerequisite(s): Level 2 placement in English  or concurrent enrollment in ENGL 1010  and ENGL 0815 ; Level 2 placement in Reading . Note: PHIL 1040 meets the general education requirement for Humanities.
