                | MATH 1000 - Foundations of Algebra3 Credits
 3 Class Hours
 
 This course is designed to prepare students to have the necessary skills to be successful in algebra intensive college-level mathematics courses. The curriculum provides multiple representations of applications and problem-solving, both algebraically and with the aid of technology. Topics include performing operations with polynomials and rational expressions; analysis of quadratic and rational functions and graphs; solving quadratic, rational, and radical equations; and graphing and evaluating polynomial and exponential functions. Prerequisite(s): Level 2 placement in Math  or concurrent enrollment in MATH 0815 .  Note: This course will not satisfy general education math requirements for associate degrees or technical certificates. The purpose of this course is preparation for CHEM 1110 , or MATH 1130  or 1710  for those students with a math placement level 1  upon admission or for those students who reached math placement level 2  by completing a SAILS program in high school.
