CITC 2356 - Penetration Testing & Net Def (formerly CPT 2490 - Infrastructure Security) 3 Credits 3 Class Hours
Develops essential skills for penetration testers and other network security professionals, focusing on how hackers attack computers and networks, and how to protect Windows and Linux systems. Topics include legal restrictions and ethical guidelines enforcement; hands-on labs, both attacking and defending, using port scans, footprinting, buffer overflow exploits, SQL injection, privilege escalation, Trojans, and backdoors; and the legal, ethical, and technical aspects of using computer systems in unexpected ways. Prerequisite(s): CITC 1301
