SWRK 2060 - Field Practicum

5 Class Hours
An opportunity for the student to have direct professional experience in the field of social services. Students complete a minimum of 150 clock hours of fieldwork in a social service agency approved by the Department and will be supervised by both an on-site mentor and a college practicum supervisor. Students are also required to attend all scheduled seminar meetings. Prerequisite(s): Completion of 30 hours of major core courses or instructor permission.

Topics include welding safety, oxyfuel cutting, plasma arc cutting, air carbon arc cutting and gouging, base metal preparation, weld quality, SMAW equipment and setup, SMAW electrodes, beads and fillet welds, joint fit-up and alignment, groove welds with backing, and open V groove welds.
